As employees of the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter, we bring people together to create extraordinary moments and lasting memories through the power of sports and entertainment.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as our 50/50 Game Night Assistant. In this position you will support maximizing sales revenue of the Trail Blazers Foundation Rip City 50/50 Raffle through quality volunteer management, strong customer service, and diligent cash management and reporting.
You will be responsible for:
• Selling 50/50 raffle tickets to guests in the Moda Center on all pre, regular, and post season Trail Blazers home game nights.
• Providing friendly and helpful customer service to arena guests purchasing 50/50 raffle tickets.
• Acting as an extension of Guest Experience when customers have broader arena questions on game nights.
• Facilitating training of new volunteers from nonprofit organizations that rotate nightly.
• Regularly checking in on volunteers on every level of the arena throughout the game to field questions and offer suggestions to maximize sales.
• Counting and managing cash collected from 50/50 raffle sales to eliminate shortages .
• Troubleshooting any issues that arise with raffle technology.
• Reporting winning number and purchases accurately through written reporting and notifying appropriate staff on-site.
You are qualified if:
• You are at least 18 years old.
• You are available to staff all Trail Blazers home games from two and a half hours prior to tip through the completion of the game (approximately 4.5 hours per night).
• You have the ability to move throughout the arena levels and sales areas over the course of the game night.
• You are a team player with a strong ability to work with diverse Trail Blazers and Moda Center employees to create the best customer experience.
• You possess sales experience.
• You are comfortable utilizing technology to enable sales transactions.
• You are a motivated individual who will take initiative.
• You demonstrate a positive, service-oriented attitude toward helping fans and guests.
• You are able to maintain calm under sometimes stressful situations with imminent deadlines.
• You have had volunteer management experience, preferred.
