Search for Financial Analyst jobs in Los Angeles-CA
Report to the Controller and the Chief Financial Officer. Businesses include two large operations in Los Angeles, CA. Performs all activities of cost accounting, financial analysis, and general accounting activities as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing for assigned areas.
• Participate in preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
• Help support operations through partnering with management, and preparing timely detailed analytical reports including costs, spend and variances. Analyze operations, equipment availability and utilization of labor to ensure efficiency.
• Perform all activities of cost accounting function. Responsible for all cost accounting areas including standard cost roll, multi-level bills of materials, direct and indirect labor, overhead rates and absorption, product cost development.
• Perform various general accounting activities, including but not limited to journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned areas.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve profitability of the company through development and generation of appropriate customer, product and cost reporting; and through thorough understanding of the business drivers and processes.
• Help guide financial decisions by participating in the establishment, monitoring, and enforcement of policies and procedures.
• Participate in monitoring and confirming the financial condition of the Company by participating in audits and providing information to external auditors.
Job Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance
• At least 5 years of cost accounting experience, with experience in general and cost accounting.
• Proven ability to utilize a system of key metrics, financial measurements and manufacturing cost analysis used to measure operating performance, and drive managerial decision-making.
• Experience with an ERP system - Preferably Oracle or similar.
• Strong computer skills, including advanced MS Excel and working knowledge of MS Access.
• Strong written, verbal and analytical and problem solving skills with proven experience in driving process improvement
