PMC: Senior DevOps Engineer

This role is perfect for a forward-thinking engineer who sees AI as a fundamental tool for enhancing infrastructure management, deployment efficiency, and operational excellence rather than just an add-on feature.
The CloudOps team has worked on projects like migrating core infrastructure to Terraform, developing patterns for AWS Fargate, Lambda, and Aurora. Your work will directly impact the IT team's and engineering team's ability to deliver and will involve owning tasks from investigation through development and deployment. You'll help build and maintain the infrastructure that powers our media applications while helping to lead the integration of AI-powered tools into our DevOps workflows.
While this post is for Senior DevOps Engineer, we are open to hiring at another level for the right candidate. You will have a chance to work on some of the largest, trusted brands in entertainment and fashion news, including Variety, Billboard, Deadline, WWD, and Robb Report.
As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Responsibilities
• Managing our cloud platform (AWS) to ensure repeatability, reliability, and cost optimization using AI-powered resource analysis
• Design and maintain scalable infrastructure using Terraform to support WordPress, Laravel, Python, and advertising technology systems
• Manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments to AWS Fargate and ECS
• Proactively identifying areas for improvement in existing systems and processes using AI-powered analysis
• Ensuring all systems and infrastructure utilize modern, standardized patterns and best practices with intelligent automation workflows
• Managing system software patch management, system and infrastructure health monitoring, and security using New Relic and AI-powered anomaly detection
• Implementing business continuity plans, including disaster recovery systems, related tools and processes with AI-assisted recovery planning
• As part of a team, support break/fix scenarios when necessary and serve in an on-call rotation
• Create intelligent automation workflows that reduce manual operational overhead using AI-powered tools
Qualifications
You do not need to check every box for the experience below. If you are passionate about this opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
• 5 years of DevOps/Site Reliability Engineering experience with strong knowledge of AWS cloud services and infrastructure automation
• 3 years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and container orchestration platforms (Docker, ECS/Fargate)
• 2 years of hands-on experience with Linux system administration, shell scripting, and monitoring tools (New Relic, Datadog)
• 1 years of hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, AI-powered development workflows, and agentic automation solutions (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.)
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation using Jenkins and GitHub Actions
• Professional programming experience in scripting languages (i.e. bash) and familiarity with microservices architecture
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity and securing cloud systems, database administration (MySQL/Aurora, PostgreSQL, Redis), and disaster recovery planning
Typical wage range: $145k - $190k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role.
