PMC: Procurement Specialist
Penske Media Corporation (PMC), the parent to brands including Variety, Rolling Stone, The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, The Golden Globes, SHE Media, and many others including cultural event SXSW, is hiring a detail-oriented and process-driven Procurement Specialist to oversee key aspects of our procurement function, with two pillars of responsibilities in procurement operations, and software purchasing. This role will report to the AVP, Procurement and work very closely with the Accounts Payable team and key function stakeholders across the company.
As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely in our West Los Angeles headquarters with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Operations:
• Support and optimize procurement systems (Coupa), workflows, and processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Provide training and support to internal teams on procurement systems and best practices.
• Monitor procurement activities and troubleshoot system or process issues as needed.
• Analyze procurement data and metrics to identify improvements and support decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement operations with organizational goals.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure data integrity within procurement systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline onboarding workflows and improve processes.
• Manage the onboarding process for new vendors ensuring seamless experience for vendors while maintaining compliance with company policies.
• Serve as a point of contact for vendors during onboarding, addressing questions and providing guidance when needed.
Software Purchasing:
• Lead negotiations for software purchases and renewals.
• Identifying cost-effective solutions while meeting business requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and manage software vendor relationships.
• Analyze software spend data to drive optimization strategies and cost control.
• Alert stakeholders and procurement team any renegotiation and RFP process.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in procurement operations, vendor onboarding, and software sourcing.
• Hands-on experience with Coupa or similar procurement platforms (Coupa preferred).
• Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with software purchasing processes, pricing models, and agreements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Typical wage range: $70k - $75k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role.
