Manager, Email Operations

Penske Media Corporation, whose award-winning content across more than 23 media brands attracts a passionate monthly audience of more than 310 million, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Email Operations Manager to join our highly collaborative audience development team. The role will help manage email development across PMC’s entire portfolio of iconic brands, including Rolling Stone, Variety, WWD, The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Deadline, Robb Report, SHE Media, ARTnews, and more. This position is based in our West LA headquarters and will work a hybrid work schedule, 3 days in office, 2 days remote each week.

The ideal candidate will be proficient at email development (coding templates, mobile responsiveness, QA processes, etc.), while also understanding the general best practices of email marketing and subscriber maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Support the production and deployment of email templates and campaigns, including editorial, acquisition, third-party, and more
• Build, test, and deploy emails using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and WordPress
• Assist in development of custom landing pages and microsites to support email and traditional marketing campaigns
• Manage multiple projects with varying timelines, working with on-site and remote teams
• Assist with subscriber maintenance, including segmentations, database cleanup, etc.
• Interact with sales teams in the creation and deployment of newsletters/journeys
• Assist in the training of editorial staff as well as troubleshooting any support needs
• Collaborate with Audience Development team on email best practices and strategy for all PMC brands

Requirements:
• 5 years working experience in email/web development
• Strong proficiency in email distribution software such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sailthru, etc. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is preferred
• Ability to code, test, debug and maintain email templates that utilize a mixture of HTML, CSS, AMPscript, and more
• Experience with subscriber segmentation and database management
• Solid grasp of email best practices and regulations
• SQL query experience preferred but not required
• A strong communicator (oral and written) with a positive attitude and a desire to get things done
• Exceptional attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
• Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• Adobe Photoshop skills are a bonus
• Litmus experience a plus
