PMC: Head of Talent Relations
Penske Media Corporation (PMC) seeks a Head of Talent Relations for a full-time staff position across the PMC portfolio of brands. Based in the PMC offices in LA or New York, the Head of Talent Relations will work to book and program talent for PMC’s live events primarily its proprietary annual LA3C festival based in Los Angeles. Other key focusses will be to curate programming and book talent for live media events, print and digital stories, speaking engagements and any other talent needs for editorial and live media initiatives. We are seeking a leader who has strong industry relationships, deep industry experience and has a successful track record securing high profile talent.
Responsibilities
Include:
• Booking top tier talent for PMC’S proprietary music, culture and creativity festival, LA3C annually
• Partner closely with VP of Public Affairs and Strategy, PMC to ensure talent aligns with programming needs for LA3C
• Work closely with VP Talent, PMC Music Group to support as needed
• Manage all aspects of talent relations for LA3C from beginning to end of festival including creative curation of talent, booking of talent, and managing the process throughout.
• Deliver and execute top tier talent that aligns with LA3C's mission and goals.
• Creatively strategize to deliver talent that helps shape LA3C festival identity
• Proactively network, build and maintain relationships with relevant publicists, managers, studios, and agencies to ensure PMC is always top of mind and connected with appropriate talent and opportunities.
• Work with internal teams across PMC’s brands to execute talent requests for various initiatives.
• Daily collaboration with other team members, editors, live media, and staff to develop opportunities and strategy.
• Work closely with talent agencies to ensure awareness of new and emerging talent.
• Book talent according to shoot/event schedule in collaboration with internal teams.
• Manage all processes related to talent booking from ideation to execution.
• Ensure all talent have up to date agreements as needed.
• Lead talent negotiation process partnering with key internal stakeholders throughout.
Required Skills:
• 10 years of work experience with deep expertise in music booking.
• Experience booking and working with top tier celebrities, actors, artists, athletes and influencers.
• Proven track record in talent relations, curation and talent booking.
• A passion for talent curation, booking and project management
• Ability to create and execute talent integrations for festivals, live events, and media.
• Ability to work across a large media company and identify opportunities to maximize exposure.
• A strong understanding of music and trends, popular culture, entertainment world, influencer culture, and more.
• Experience working with production teams and crew both in-studio and remotely.
