Fairchild Media, the publisher of WWD, Beauty Inc, Footwear News, and Sourcing Journal, is hiring a Senior Digital Editor to help manage trending content production on WWD, Beauty Inc, and FN’s sites and drive significant traffic across brands. This role requires a seasoned journalist with a demonstrated interest in covering fashion, retail, footwear, and beauty markets for a global audience. This position is for an editor-writer who thinks creatively, critically, and analytically about metrics-based strategies that attract global readers. This role is based in New York.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production output is on track with trending writers producing 6-7 stories each day.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced workload.
• Assign, edit and publish articles by trending staff and freelance writers.
• Must be available to assist with a monthly rotating weekend editor shift.
• Must be available for evening awards/red carpet coverage.
• Monitor real-time trending news and flag relevant topics for coverage across all verticals for all staff.
• Contribute to writing trending content when necessary, but primarily edit and assign trending writers.
• Achieve robust volume and traffic targets.
• Serve as point of contact when Charlie Carballo is OOO.

Requirements:
• Must have demonstrated an understanding of metrics.
• A history of journalistic excellence covering fashion/beauty at recognized publications with 5 years of experience.
• A minute attention to detail, including following specific best practices that directly impact traffic.
