PMC: Associate Manager of Internal Communications

Penske Media, a dynamic and growing media business, is expanding its team with the addition of a new Associate Manager of Internal Communications in our Los Angeles office. In this role, you will report to our LA-based Senior Vice President of Human Resources, while partnering with staff across various corporate departments, including our corporate Creative team, to implement and execute effective communication strategies that foster company culture, inclusiveness, employer branding and process efficiency across our US and global operations spanning more than 20 influential media brands.
Responsibilities
• Internal messaging: Ideate, write, edit, schedule and send all internal messaging for staff, ensuring a consistent voice and clarity. This can include policy announcements from various corporate departments such as HR, IT and accounting; news of awards and staff promotions; and regular company-wide events calendar.
• Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Utilize effective communication practices to consistently recognize and celebrate diversity and effectively build inclusion across the business; Support activities of our PMC Affinity Groups and DEI Committee with consistent company-wide communications about opportunities and activities.
• Employee Experience Enhancement: Utilize effective communication via various channels to enhance the PMC employee experience. Examples of this include refreshing all new hire materials; communication campaigns tied to our 2% charitable giving and volunteering initiatives; and amplifying understanding of PMC’s benefits and perks.
• com content: Edit and post new content, including all executive bios; Ensure that staff is up-to-date with titles and other details; Work with our creative team and in-house photographers to coordinate employee headshots as needed.
• PMC business social channels: Ideate, post and monitor posts and employer branding content for Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and BuiltIn; Create campaigns for employee involvement where necessary.
• Recruiting: Create and implement communications to augment recruiting efforts, for example social media campaigns, a regular jobs newsletter and attention-grabbing job postings.
Background & Education
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Undergraduate degree required. A degree in communication, PR or related discipline or equivalent experience is a plus.
• At least 2 years of communications experience.
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while being proactive and preemptive; you’re ready to step up rather than react.
• Creative and driven by data; a good mix of creative and logic.
• Experience working with tools such as WordPress and/or actively editing or updating websites is a plus.
