ARTnews: Senior Staff Writer

ARTnews, the world's leading authority in art journalism, seeks a senior staff writer/reporter. Reporting to the Managing Editor, the senior staff writer will be responsible for an average of 1-2 online articles per day, as well as several longer features per month, and will also be expected to contribute to the print publications Art in America and ARTnews. The ideal applicant is someone who is able to juggle multiple aspects of the visual art beat, ranging from profiles of artists to stories about institutions like museums to broader trend and culture pieces, and so forth. This person will be expected to develop sources, and regularly generate breaking news and exclusives.
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years' experience in journalism, ideally in art and culture. Applicants from outside art/culture reporting are encouraged to apply if they have excellent, dogged reporting skills and an ability to learn a beat quickly.
• Knowledge of art and the art world.
• An ability to work quickly and accurately and with verve; an ability to work collaboratively.
