Software Engineering Intern (Summer 2024 - Hybrid - Los Angeles or New York)

Join our dynamic Pluto TV Engineering team as a Software Engineering Intern and help shape the future of our cutting-edge projects at Pluto TV, the leading free streaming television service in America with 250 live and original channels. This is a hybrid role based in our Los Angeles or New York City office.

• Work collaboratively on a scrum team of approximately 6 to 8 developers and testers.
• Create solution design and implement ReactNative application components.
• Refactoring, bug fixing and upgrading tools and libraries in existing codebase.
• Performance optimization of ReactNative application.
• Fix software defects in PlutoTV RN applications on any number of device platforms, like Xbox, LG TVs, Website, etc.
• Evaluate unit test code coverage in PlutoTV app and create new unit tests where code coverage is low.
• Experience working with Javascript, Node.js, Next.js, ReactNative, Gluestack and Amazon EKS.

Eligibility:
• Internships are available to students who will be Juniors, Seniors, or Master's students in the fall of 2024. If you are a graduating Senior, please check our website for full-time job opportunities.
• You must be available to intern full-time (5 days a week/36-40 hours a week) for 10 weeks total starting in June.
• Internship format will be 100% in person, this may include some weekends.
• Internships are paid at a competitive standard hourly rate (school credit is optional).
• Internships are not eligible for a relocation / housing stipend.

Hiring Salary Range: $38.0 - 38.0.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
