We are recruiting for various positions in our Los Angeles office, where we would like to welcome anyone with the right experience to work in a fresh and challenging environment.
The VFX Resource Manager is responsible for ensuring the optimal utilization of talent across all projects at PXO Studios LA, as well as working in cooperation with the global team at PXO towards the same goal.
Working alongside senior management the role is responsible for monitoring and reporting on resource usage, providing resource forecasts and assisting in resource conflict resolution on both a daily and a weekly basis. This is a key role in the decision-making process in projecting resources for potential projects and ensuring there is no conflict among active jobs.
VFX Resource Manager's Responsibilities at PXO:
-Maintain studio-wide resource utilization overview & reporting across all departments and ensure this is visible and communicated to senior production staff (utilizing excel in-house Production scheduling tools and databases), includes scheduling work between the different departments within the studio and globally; this needs to be maintained daily.
-Assist each project's production managers and producers in creating the initial project plan and determining resource requirements within the project milestone dates
-Forecast resource usage for potential projects in conjunction with the bidding producer or senior production staff
-Conduct weekly meetings with all studio's project's producers and production managers, as well as heads of departments (comp, assets, lighting, etc) and their corresponding department coordinators to review current resource assignments and future tasks to ensure efficiencies are in place and there are no conflicts or concerns
-Meticulous attention to detail highlighting and addressing schedule clashes as they arise regarding any facility and studio's project's schedule conflicts, artist over/under booking, artist vacation, sick days and expected overtime. Working with colleagues in other studios and producers to find successful solutions and balancing out the workload
-Provide management with resource utilization and efficiency reports as required
Skills
and Experience
• Minimum of 3 years VFX post-production experience, ideally in resource/production management
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Knowledge of ShotGrid ideal
