Requirements
What we're looking for
• Passion for real-time rendering and creating photorealism.
• Can provide portfolio work demonstrating strong technical artistic ability (composition, scale, color, light) that includes Unreal / Unity based work.
• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to improvise and adapt to shifting project goals.
• Strong organization skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions, and other established protocols.
• Independent and self-driven; able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced production environment.
• Willingness to teach and collaborate with other Unreal artists, traditional VFX artists, and Virtual Production On-Set Unreal operators.
Skills
you'll need
• 2 years of industry experience working with Unreal Engine 4. (VFX / Game Dev).
• Experience within an UE CG Pipeline on feature films and/or games production.
• Experience using version control (Git, Perforce).
• Proficient with the Unreal Blueprint system, C++ is a bonus.
• Solid lighting, shading, and layout for game engine skills.
• Experience with Mari, Substance Painter, Quixel Mixer, or similar texturing software is a big plus.
• Experience with procedural workflows is a plus. (i.e. Houdini, Substance Designer).
• Strong understanding of Python API.
• Knowledge of Real Time Virtual Camera.
• Knowledge of developing tools for DCC packages for Maya, Houdini. Etc is a bonus.
What you'll be doing
• Producing photo-real environment assets intended for realtime rendering on one of our LED volume production stages.
• Ensuring the quality and optimization of an environment intended on being sync'd to the led volume.
• Create photoreal dynamic lighting and shading in Unreal.
• Work collaboratively with the VAD and VP Supervisors alongside Virtual Production Lighting Supervisors and Unreal Technical Artists.
• Align and execute the artistic vision put forth by both client and internal VFX Supervisors.
• R&D cutting-edge techniques for real-time art.
• Profile and optimize scenes to meet the project requirements without sacrificing visual fidelity.
• Develop shaders, tools, FX, modules, and/or various assets for the internal library.
• Secure efficiency measures while retaining hero high end quality. Ensure performance and quality are delivered consistently.
• Participate in troubleshooting issues or challenges within an environment.
• Determine and maintain environment controls or variables available to Virtual Production On-Set
• Unreal operators.
