Pixomondo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CFX Artist to join our talented team in Toronto, CA.
As a CFX Artist, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting film and television projects and contribute your skills to the creation of realistic and captivating characters and creatures. If you have a passion for pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling and possess a strong background in CFX, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with the VFX Supervisor, Animation Team, and other departments to create dynamic and visually stunning character effects for film and television projects.
• Design and create a wide variety of realistic visual effects and simulations, including but not limited to character cloth, hair, fur, muscle, skin, and other related effects.
• Ensure the integration of character effects seamlessly into the overall visual effects pipeline, while maintaining the artistic and technical direction of the project.
• Revise simulations based on client and supervisor feedback in a timely manner.
• Work in coordination with the Lighting team to ensure smooth integration of FX elements.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a CFX Artist in the visual effects industry, with a focus on film and television projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of character effects and their integration into visual storytelling.
• Proficient in Houdini, and other related tools used in character effects.
• Extensive knowledge of simulation techniques for cloth, hair, fur, muscle, skin, and other character-related effects.
• Solid understanding of physics, anatomy, and motion principles, with the ability to translate them into realistic and visually appealing character effects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and across departments.
• Ability to manage time effectively, meet project deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic production environment.
• Solid understanding of generic simulation engines.
• Experience using Shotgrid beneficial.
