Full Time Job
The RenderMan team is responsible for the development and support of Pixar's world-renowned rendering software. The Vice President oversees both the Engineering and Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that RenderMan meets the demanding internal studio requirements at Pixar and ILM, while also delivering the best film-quality rendering software product in the world to external studios and research institutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain and continue to evolve a coherent and forward looking business plan, product strategy, and technological roadmap
• Aid the team in execution towards shipping products
• Collaborate with Pixar studio and external customer leaders to identify emerging production challenges and implement effective, innovative solutions
• Oversee the promotion of RenderMan products at sales and marketing events
• Oversee engineering teams to ensure that the product development plans align with customer requirements, industry trends and business imperatives
• Build and nurture relationships with researchers and colleagues at Pixar, Disney Research, and the other studios within The Walt Disney Company
• Collaborate with legal and development staff to maximize value of RenderMan intellectual property
• Oversee the Seattle and London facilities and daily operations
• Build/sustain a healthy, positive working environment that facilitates the efficient and creative deployment of world class products
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10 years experience managing and leading a software development/product team and independent business unit
• MBA or equivalent experience desirable
• Strong leadership and communication skills required
• Strong project management skills required
• Experience working with international business partners preferred
• Entertainment industry, computer graphics software experience a plus
• Ability to learn and converse fluently in technical discussions required
• Ability to stay current in industry trends and new technologies required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Position is based in Seattle, Washington
• Travel required
