Full Time Unpaid Internship
Job Summary:
During our 12-week classroom-based story artist training course, Story Interns will work in collaboration with mentors from the story department to do the following:
• Learn about Pixar's visual story development process as well as the production pipeline.
• Work closely with story artists to learn about consistency, versatility, and speed throughout the drawing process.
• We will challenge your drawing and storyboarding skills in order to grow, develop and strengthen them as you work through a series of visual storytelling assignments designed specifically for this program.
• Enjoy presentations, screenings, assignments, etc. in support of growing your story development skills.
Qualifications:
• A working knowledge of Photoshop is required
• Provide a portfolio of your story panel work demonstrating your understanding of the fundamentals of the story process (staging, draftsmanship, rough sketches, and storytelling ability)
• Your background in story development, art or illustration demonstrates that you understand character design, layout, good draftsmanship, etc
• An ability to show action and comedy through expressive drawings
• You are someone who loves organization, is detail oriented and enjoys the challenge of working quickly and collaboratively
• You are able to demonstrate your abilities via your online demo reel or portfolio
• You have a positive "can do" attitude and a strong work ethic
• You are available to work full-time Mon - Fri from 6.7.21- 8.27.21
• You already possess the legal right to work in the United States
Eligibility:
Traditional Academic Paths:
• You are working towards a degree or certificate in illustration, animation, film, or related field, and/or within one year since your graduation date.
• Recent grads who are within the first year post graduation are eligible to apply
Less Traditional Professional Paths:
Pixar recognizes that obtaining skills and knowledge may take different forms and has expanded intern eligibility to include additional life experiences including:
• Career Transition: those whose previous work/academic experiences differ vastly from animation, VFX, gaming and other computer graphics focused industries
• Armed Forces: those who have served in the armed forces and are in a retraining program
• Home Schooled: those who are self-taught via an alternative educational path

• Provide a link to your online demo reel or portfolio in the "Demo Reel'' section of the application; without it, you are not eligible for the internship.

• Due to the high volume of submissions, we are not able to provide feedback nor are we able to respond to requests for application status. You will be notified when there is an update on your application
