Assistant Sound & Music Editor

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Sound Editorial Support
• Import and log sound effects into sound databases
• Prepare and organize Pro Tool sessions for temp mixes and ancillary projects
• Conform and sync sound cuts to picture changes
• Light Pro Tools troubleshooting and maintenance
• Create sound effect passes on sequences as requested for mixes
• Music & Sound Archival Support
• Maintain and archive auditory digital media
• QC deliverables to ensure quality standards are met
• Media and database organization
• Convert media to match theatrical and home theater frame rate speeds (23.98 & 24 FPS)
• Layback audio to video: check sync, multi-track collapses, etc.
• Assist in the development of sound studio standards & practices
• Manage sound department Confluence page
• Music Editing Support
• Research emerging film scores
• Maintain music databases
• Import music and sound for editorial use in Avid Media Composer and Pro Tools
• Transfer stems/sessions between Avid Media Composer and Pro Tools
• Assist with conforms as needed
• Creation of music cue sheets for ancillary projects

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with Pro Tools required
• Proficiency with Macintosh OS (mid-high level user)
• Responsible, excellent attention to detail. Self-starting, team player
• Ability to multi-task and remain steady under pressure
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Inquisitive and creative problem solver
• Willing to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) and/or overtime on short notice
• Audio Engineering experience is a plus
• Post facility internship experience is a plus
• Track laying experience (e.g., Avid, Final Cut Pro, sync, surround) is a plus
• Basic music theory and/or music training experience is a plus
• AppleScript knowledge is a plus
• Experience with database programs like FileMaker and Soundminer is a plus
