The Pittsburgh Pirates are seeking a Fellow, Social Media to assist and collaborate with the Social Media team in all aspects of managing and maintaining the organization's social media accounts to bring a detailed content strategy to life. The person in this role will have the opportunity to learn the intricacies of the industry while developing their skills and knowledge under the supervision of Manager, Social Media.
As part of a multi-faceted and dynamic team, this individual will be able to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while consistently bringing new ideas to the table. We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, flexible, extremely organized, and detail-oriented with knowledge of crafting and implementing social media copy and strategies.
Responsibilities
Primary:
• Distribute content on all the organization's social media accounts (Pirates, Young Bucs, PNC Park Events, Bucs Community, Pirate Parrot, etc.) in collaboration with Manager, Social Media; Coordinator, Social Media; Intern, Social Media; and Director, Social Media & Content Strategy.
• Provide social coverage for home games (on-site), away games (remotely), community events, mascot appearances, partner activations, etc.
• Contribute to the maintenance and activation of the content calendar.
• Pitch ideas and create content for Pirates social accounts.
• Assist in the strategy, planning, and execution of the Pirates Influencer Program.
• Research and report on trends and initiatives across the league to develop new concepts and best practice.
• Upload photo and video content for player use.
• Grow the organization's voice through daily engagement with fans across all platforms.
• Update graphic, video templates when necessary.
• Assist all analytic efforts in performance reporting structure.
• Collaborate on idea generation and with content creation.
• Remain flexible and nimble to assist with additional projects as assigned.
Requirements
Required:
• Authorized to work lawfully in the United States
• Attendance at most Pirates home games
• Experience managing TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, and YouTube accounts
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite Programs such as: Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom and InDesign
Desired:
• Sports experience is preferred
• Knowledge of baseball is preferred
• On-screen experience a plus
• Speaking, understanding Spanish a plus
