Title: Podcast Audio Producer
Department: Lionsgate Sound - Podcast Division
Direct Supervisor: SVP, Original Programming, Head of Documentary and Audio Content
General Summary: The Podcast Audio Producer is responsible for supporting the SVP, Original Programming, Head of Documentary and Audio Content. The position works closely with the Head of Audio Content and the Audio Design Editor to develop, record, and edit podcast audio content.
Essential Functions:
• Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and a methodical approach to ensure timely preparation of production schedules.
• Oversee development of story, working with Head of Audio Content to coordinate and organize talent, interviews, and recording.
• Responsible for researching at the request of the Head of Audio Content.
• Prepares scripts and interview questions for podcast hosts and guests.
• Oversee the technical aspects of audio recording to achieve daily goals of production.
• Able to promptly analyze and prioritize potential issues with the creative vision while recording, and effectively communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of the staff necessary adjustments to creative.
• Maintain an efficient daily production schedule by regularly engaging with the production team and talent.
• Manage the daily needs of and provide production-related guidance to the talent while recording.
• Collaborate with Audio Editors through the editing process to produce a final mix for supervisor review.
• Able to motivate a team of varied team members through the demanding process of production.
• Must be detail-oriented with excellent writing skills and a clear understanding of story concept.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2-4 years experience as a podcast or radio producer.
• Passionate about storytelling and podcasting.
• Extensive understanding of the podcast industry.
• Requisite social skills to work with talent and team members.
• Experience in journalism is advantageous.
Physical Demands:
• Appropriately handle stress and maintain overall composure despite varied responsibilities and changing priorities.
• Able to closely and aurally review small details.
• Potential physical exposure to various climate and weather conditions if recording in the field.
Work Environment:
• Fast-paced office environment with demanding hours.
• May require travel depending on production.
• Office and fieldwork potentially required; fieldwork may require exposure to various climate and weather conditions.
