Founded by industry veteran Bill Romeo, Picture Shop operates from the belief that no job is too big or too small for our dedicated team of production artists. From color management to editing and dailies, we deliver exceptional attention to client needs, providing a fresh vision, collaborative experience, and calm, reassuring atmosphere. Headquartered in Burbank, CA, our 36,000 square foot facility is equipped with the latest technology, housing eight color bays, four edit bays, three flame rooms and resources for up to 100 VFX artists.
Opportunity:
Picture Shop is looking for an outstanding Atlanta-based on-set VFX Supervisor experienced at providing on-set supervision for television shows. Our ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the pace and dynamic of production crews working on location, how decisions made on set affect post-production VFX, and how to successfully engage key crew members in a collaborative manner. This opportunity is ideal for a VFX Supervisor who thrives on working independently, with minimal VFX support on set, while contributing towards the overall success of the larger VFX project.
Please note that this is a temporary assignment based out of Atlanta, GA.
Expected project dates: August 2020 - December 2020
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the design and execution of on-set visual effects work for an episodic series, while maintaining Director's vision and working within budget.
• Management and successful completion of the VFX during production.
• Troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced schedule, while being able to remain calm and organized.
• Act as a liaison between the clients, producers, or director while establishing strong client confidence.
• Scheduling of effects production and potentially estimating/bidding new work.
• Flag overages and conceptual changes that would affect the VFX Bid.
• Communicate Director's feedback and delegate appropriate tasks to applicable crew & artists.
• Regularly update senior management to show status weekly.
Required Skills:
• Proven experience with on-set VFX Supervision.
• Expert knowledge in leading and training teams of VFX artists.
• Excellent communication skills, artistic skills, problem solving skills and time management.
• Proven ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas.
• High level of experience in an episodic television and/or fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of VFX technologies.
Qualifications:
Education:
• High School education or equivalent required.
• BA/BS in applicable field preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience.
