Full Time Job
Opportunity:
Responsible for managing and monitoring company infrastructure and systems. Installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of editorial systems, operating systems, application software, and management tools. Deploying and administering Mac, PC, and Linux systems. Also, this role will involve day-to-day administrative IT and Help Desk tasks within a collaborative post production environment, focusing on policy enforcement, security and the timely resolution of issues.
Note: This position will work nightly hours: Approximately 4pm to 1am.
Responsibilities:
Managing Editorial Systems
o Understands and manages Avid and other editorial systems workflows.
o Troubleshoots software specific related issues (Avid, Flame, Premiere, Final Cut, Resolve, etc.)
Broadcast
o Understands broadcasting\media services function of a post-production environment and can troubleshoot issues related to encodes, laybacks, etc.
Archiving
o Manages an archival database and facilitating the constant backup, and recovery, of media to and from LTO tapes.
Networking
o Troubleshoots issues involved with administering and maintaining corporate infrastructure, including network connectivity, Internet access, email, etc.
Help Desk
o Assists internal and external clients and users with helpdesk matters (i.e. troubleshooting log in, email, printer, keyboard, mouse, Wacom, and monitor issues) and properly follows escalation list to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Asset Management
o Assists with the inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
o Promotes responsible usage and care of corporate equipment.
Internal Systems
o Assists in supporting corporate applications, internal corporate servers, user desktops, etc.
o Assists with basic troubleshooting, backup, and archiving.
o Helps install and improve computer software and network equipment.
Account Administration
o Creates network and email accounts for new users, adding them to the appropriate internal email groups.
o Sets up computers for new users and ensures delivery of equipment to users in different locations as necessary.
Required Skills:
• Ability to multitask and balance a diverse workload.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Organization skills as well as diligent note taking and documentation skills.
• Flexibility in work schedule regarding weekend work and occasional shift changes.
• Advanced user with Microsoft o365, including the full Office Suite and online portal.
• Beginner level skillset with common editorial software platforms (Avid, Premiere, or equivalent).
Preferred Skills:
• Basic understanding of storage architecture and a SAN environment (Quantum\Stornext).
• Advanced skillset with common editorial platforms and relative workflows (Avid, Premiere, Flame).
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and terminal functions/scripts.
• Experience in administration of Active Directory and domain services.
Qualifications:
Education:
• High School education or equivalent required.
• BA/BS in applicable field preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum 2-3 years' information technology technical experience; post production experience preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skill, and abilities.
