Full Time Job
The Phoenix Suns seek Sr. Director/Vice President of Business Intelligence to drive results using data, technology and analytical processes. The role will oversee a team of analysts supporting all of business operations to drive revenue, optimize strategy and increase operational efficiencies in the areas of ticket sales, sponsorship, marketing, CRM, research digital and finance. The role will be in charge of data strategy for the organization including data warehouse management, data acquisition and data cleansing. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment, possess strong technical skills and demonstrate the ability to prepare and present executive level reports and dashboards.
Primary (Essential) Duties:
• Use best in class technology and analytics processes to support decision making across business operations
• Responsible for overseeing ticket pricing optimization and inventory management strategy for the Suns by analyzing secondary market trends and historical data
• Support Sponsorship efforts through rate card analysis, expense tracking, internal and external research and analytics insight
• Develop and execute fan data strategy including but not limited to fan profiling, segmentation, lead scoring and data enrichment
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of internal and external reporting across the organization
• Manage internal data warehouse through data acquisition, data cleansing and business rules application
• Oversee CRM team dedicated to supporting Ticket Sales and Sponsorships using KORE software
• Manage executive level reports and dashboards clearly communicating insights and recommendations
• Manage ongoing and develop additional models including pricing, retention and lead scoring
• Manage internal vendor relationships as it relates to analytics tools and operations
• Keep up-to-date on industry trends as they relate to technology and strategy
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Strong business acumen and application of data and insights to business strategy
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Programming ability (SQL preferred, R and Python a plus)
• Strong data visualization skills (e.g. Tableau/Looker/Domo/Spotfire) required
• Familiarity with database management and working with relational databases
• Strong presentation skills and particular expertise in designing effective charts, graphs and tables
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues across multiple business areas
• Must have strong time management and organizational skills
• Must work independently and self-motivate
Experience & Education:
• Bachelor's degree required; Masters Degree a plus
• Minimum 3 years in a management role
Working Conditions:
• Traditional business hours with occasional weekends, evenings, some holidays and some overtime to meet business needs
