We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Coordinator, Communications to support communications initiatives including basketball communications for the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury.
What You Will Do:
• Lead a streamlined and organized credential process for the Suns and Mercury, while ensuring implementation of best practices in credential processes and collaboration with vendors across Valley Suns and arena.
• Oversee best in class game day experience including: manage media entrance, producing seatings charts, and other game day materials.
• Execute, in conjunction with Security and Event Services teams, process for credential and access approval for all internal team members and appropriate guests and vendors for home games and other events.
• Manage submission of credential requests for organization personnel for league-issued credentials.
• Compile and distribute daily clips reports and assist in compiling weekly/monthly coverage recaps.
• Monitor media/social coverage and conversation.
• Maintain and update media contact lists and databases.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with media members and have the ability to respond quickly to all media requests.
• Assist with writing game notes and other statistical information for the Suns and Mercury.
• Support day-to-day media requests by coordinating interviews, pitching stories to support team storylines and providing relevant background materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
What We Need From Our Senior Coordinator, Basketball Communications:
• Positive attitude
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people and develop strong relationships
• Able to multi-task under time constraints, meet deadlines and work within a fast-paced industry/environment; must be very detail oriented
• Excellent communications skills; an ability to express ideas clearly and concisely
• Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, holidays
• Must have intuitive ability to learn and master various software platforms utilized for credential submission and creation
• Must have basic understanding of Microsoft Office
Experience/ Education Requirements:
• Minimum of three years of communications/media relations experience, preferably with a professional sports organization
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in public relations, communications or related field
