Full Time Job
The Phoenix Suns are seeking a detail oriented and engaging teammate to join our Payroll Services team! This person will process payrolls on multiple pay cycles for Players, Salaried and Hourly Staff within company pay policies. We are looking for someone to understand the requirements of all applicable Federal, State and Local laws and to perform functions vital to maintaining accurate employee records.
What you will do
Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, and supplemental payrolls
• Review and analyze timesheets, payroll payment spreadsheets and other source documents for accuracy and process them in the appropriate system
• Transfer timecard information from timekeeping system to the HRIS system
• Balance all earning and deductions prior to finalizing the payroll for printing
• Ensure accurate taxing of all payments for City, State and Federal purposes
• Process apportionment of wages spreadsheets, as provided by the Payroll Accounting & Tax Analyst. Verify accurate State tax withholdings as related to the apportionment.
• Process all miscellaneous payments, taxable fringe benefits and other items to be included in employee compensation as information is received (i.e. Taxable Value of tickets, Per Diems, etc.)
• Administration of garnishments and issuance of related payments
Maintain Employee Records
• Maintain the data integrity of employee data in all applicable systems
• Process new hires, rehires, terms, job changes and other changes in the time and attendance application
• Review all employee change and payroll requests for missing information and work with HR and/or Department Managers to acquire missing information
Monthly Reports
• Prepare Monthly reports for Accounting (i.e. check registers & direct deposit registers
• Maintain account receivable deduction spreadsheet by employee and send to Accounting Monthly
Paid Time Off Accruals
• Performs quarterly audit of each employee's paid time off balances
• Works with HR to resolve any discrepancies
• Review and make corrections to time off balances subsequent to annual rollover and throughout the year as needed
Application Support
• Provide login assistance and password resets
• Provide frontline support to employees and managers with the HRIS and Workforce Management applications.
• Assist with Training of staff on commonly used applications
What we need from our Specialist
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
• Ability to function independently
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all staff levels
• Attention to detail, excellent communication and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Education
and experience
• Minimum of 2-3 years payroll processing, accounting or similar financial experience preferred
• Multi-State taxation experience preferred
• BS or BA preferred
• UltiPro and/or ABIMM experience a plus
Additional eligibility requirements
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information as well as the financial and other critical information of the Organization
• FPC or CPP preferred

• This role is computer based and will require extended periods of time working in front of a computer screen
• Capable of listening carefully and speaking to others on the telephone/two-way radio and communicating with other team members to exchange information
• Ability to interpret data and to read, write & speak in English
