Job Purpose
This position will be responsible for the development and execution of sound business plans, P&L, marketing and promotional programs, retail operations and corporate purchasing to maximize revenue and brand exposure. Primary focus includes the overall responsibility for the day to day oversight of our retail partner Sports Ventures, who currently runs the Team Shop and all permanent and portable retail areas inside Talking Stick Resort Arena. This position will be tasked with manage the premium and promotional buying process for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Marketing Partners and Ticket sales. In addition, the position will be responsible for all grassroots and promotional marketing efforts.
Primary (Essential) Duties
• In collaboration with Sports Ventures and their General Manager of Retail Operations, oversee retail store operations for the Suns, Mercury and TSRA Events, and serve as primary contact and Buyer of merchandise for Sports Ventures; manage ecommerce
• Oversee marketing, social media, and layout of all merchandise space with Talking Stick Resort Arena (signage, layouts, etc.) working with Digital, Creative Services, and Marketing Partnerships
• Create and coordinate marketing plans, schedule and events for the retail business, including Item of the Game, in-game presentation, email marketing inclusion, social media schedule and Suns mobile integration
• Analyze sales results and react appropriately due to shifts in the business. Maintain knowledge of contracts, partnerships, budget, inventory and P&L related to the retail business while working closely with our analytics team
• Stay current with topics and trends related to Best in Class practices across all retail types, especially sports and entertainment. Maintain relationships with NBA retail counterparts, League office, vendors and other local teams
• Manage Suns retail social media accounts
• Plan and coordinate internal and external communications regarding retail and premium products and ordering
• Develop and execute premiums buying plan throughout company, including outfitting for the building (back office, GSRs, security), promotional giveaways, and autograph merchandise
• Create and maintain schedule for premium ordering for seasonal events throughout the year
• Manager coordinator in overseeing Suns Street Team; development and execution of all grassroots and community outreach initiatives
• Provide current, accurate and reliable information to Director of Marketing as to daily, weekly, monthly activities and initiatives in support of retail operations and promotional/grassroots events
• Assist in other marketing duties as assigned

• Computer skills required: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
Experience/Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar field is required. Minimum four (4) years of experience in marketing or advertising and minimum two (2) years of experience in a retail environment. Previous experience in sports and/or entertainment preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Traditional business hours with occasional weekends, evenings, some holidays and some overtime to meet business needs. During the season, availability to attend games on nights, weekends, and holidays.
