This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Initiatives Intern will support the planning and execution of multiple community projects and events. The role will primarily assist with administration of the 50/50 program and provide operational support for the Ballgirl program. The Intern will provide additional support across the department for multiple events and programs. Responsibilities include game day preparation, scheduling support, and event assistance.
This position is expected to last 12 months and requires availability to work events both home games and non-game days. Hours for this position will vary between days, evenings, weekdays, and weekends depending on events and game schedules.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
• Assist staff with the execution of the Phillies 50/50 Raffle during home games and serve as a secondary point of contact for game-day raffle sellers.
• Support annual recruitment of Phillies 50/50 Raffle staff including interviewing, onboarding, uniform orders and distribution, and scheduling.
• Montor and respond to fan email inquiries as appropriate.
• Administer daily logistics of the Phillies Ballgirl program as well as monthly Ballgirl programming such as Ballkid of the Month.
• Assist with annual Phillies Ballgirl events, such as Play for Her Tournament, Dream Camp, Holiday Party, Christmas in July, and related social media support.
• Support Female Initiative Programming including National Girls and Women in Sports Day, On Deck, Philadelphia Sports Girls Initiative, Girls Baseball, Youth Softball Celebration.
• Help facilitate the Summer and Season of Giving events.
• Provide support to other areas of the community initiatives department as needed.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Experience and/or strong knowledge of softball and/or baseball preferred.
• Ability to work flexible and irregular hours to support in-season game schedule and annual events calendar required (off-season hours are more regular).
• Professional demeanor and the ability to prioritize with a demonstrated attention to detail a must.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust and respond to changing priorities and needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ability to work both collaboratively and independently required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
