Position Summary: Under general direction, the Basketball Operations Intern will serve as a day-to-day contact for all Delaware Blue Coats basketball operations efforts.

Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to the following:
• Team Transportation
• Drive players to/from practice, games, promotional appearances, medical appointments, and other events.
• Drive incoming and outgoing players to the airport.
• Organize regular trips to grocery store.
• Practice set-up, breakdown, film
• Setup and breakdown of balls, coolers, towels, clock, other equipment.
• Operate score clock and/or film during practice.
• Rebound and participate in drills as needed.
• Setup and breakdown of visiting teams' practices.
• Game-day set-up, breakdown
• Pre-game setup and post-game breakdown of all 3 locker rooms (Home, Visitor, Referees) at the arena.
• Assist coaches during pre-game warm-ups.
• During game: live code video, track data requested by coaching staff, provide video/data for coaches at halftime.
• Video/Coaching Support
• Code each Blue Coats game and practice in SportsCode (live code at home games).
• Maintain Video Playbook.
• Assist with scouting reports and other coaching projects, both on and off the court, as directed.
• Laundry
• Assist equipment manager with team laundry as needed.
• Housekeeping
• Clean player apartments when needed to prepare for an incoming player.
Qualifications
(educational, experience and basic knowledge requirements):
• Bachelor's degree in business, athletic administration or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• General understanding of the NBA and G-League rules and regulations
• Experience working with an organized basketball team at collegiate or professional level preferred
• Experience with basketball video software preferred (e.g. SportsCode, Synergy)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Must possess a strong ability to manage one's own time and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives
• Computer skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is strongly preferred
• Ability to work well on a team and independently
• Ability to manage specific processes and tasks in the department under supervision
Special Position Requirement:
• Flexibility in working extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
