Peoria's Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities Department has an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional skilled in parks management, project oversight and long term planning with a Parks and Community Facilities Manager position. This position oversees the community parks division, the neighborhood parks division, trails, right-of-ways and open space, stadium grounds and facilities maintenance operations. Management of capital projects, planning for land, open spaces, trails and right-of-ways, championing excellent customer service and offering support on committees will also round out this position.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum of five years related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous supervisory experience is required .
Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:
• Experience in a municipal or government setting
• Experience in project management and/or capital programming is desired.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid operational background while also having a passion for providing the best customer service to internal and external customers. In addition, a successful leader of this expansive team will possess:

• The proven ability to identify, evaluate and support programming and operational needs while negotiating a variety of contracts, cultivating a broad range of partnerships and inspiring and developing a highly motivated staff.
• A supportive approach to resolving complex or sensitive customer issues, including creative problem solving competencies for divisional needs and employee requests.
• Expansive experience that shows the ability to support and continue to evolve a varied group of programs, staff, division, and leadership team and/or City initiatives.
