Tech Product Owner - Engineering Services, Peacock
Peacock is looking for an experienced Technical Product Owner to drive requirements in an agile organization You will become part of an engineering team, responsible for defining Stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the Features or components for the team. The PO has a significant role in maximizing the value produced by the team and ensuring Stories meet the user's needs and comply with the Definition of Done. You will be the domain specialist for your teams' applications, taking ownership of the requirement analysis for projects and features. The right person in this role will have come from a technical background with the ability to understand & analyze complex problems and challenges.
Responsibilities
• Build product roadmap based on inputs from product management, architecture, engineering, and other stakeholders
• Work as a key member of the development team preparing for and facilitating agile ceremonies.
• Lead estimation sessions to obtain high level roadmap estimates. Breakdown functional and non-function requirements into user stories to present in sprint planning
• Build, edit, prioritize, and maintain team backlog of epics and user stories
• Identify internal and external dependencies of epics and user stories & define clear acceptance criteria
• Create and maintain documentation for your teams' components, including API specs and sequence diagrams
• Understand the business needs and translate product requirements into robust and innovative solutions, alongside the engineering team
• Provide delivery estimates and progress updates to program management stakeholders
Desired Characteristics
• 4-5 years of relevant experience in software engineering or tech product management
• Experience collaborating with engineering and quality teams to develop and launch features, including capturing functional requirements and preparing engineering and QA specifications
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a clear understanding of what is important when building highly available, highly reliable services to best serve our customers
• The ability to understand APIs, architectural artefacts and wireframes and communicate them confidently to others
• Be able to write good user stories and acceptance criteria, using techniques such as BDD, TDD where appropriate and tools including Jira & Confluence
• Great collaboration and facilitation skills. You should have the ability to get the best out of people, develop excellent working relationships, facilitate meetings, planning sessions and bring people together
• Expertise in SQL and relational database systems
• Solid understanding of various system integrations and workflow dependencies
• Willingness to work in a hands-on, high volume, multifaceted, and constantly evolving environment
• Passion for technology, streaming and digital media
