Intent to hire Gaffer for Lighting A locally based individual living within 50 miles or less from the St. Louis Missouri metropolitan area will be hired after interviews conducted with Gaffer candidates. The Gaffer will be on set during production every day of the final rehearsals for testing and all shooting days with their own lighting equipment, and have a charged generator battery backup eg.. a portable generator (Electricity for charging will typically be available, however may not be available on all locations). This individual will ensure the lighting is satisfactory with director and cinematographer for filming scenes. What does this job requisition include: A detailed list of intricacies described for this feature film are as follows: Title of the role: Gaffer Department: Electrical department for feature film Name of the department manager: Bryan Kreutz (Producer) Date you want the position filled: March 1, 2024 Job description (Short): Local STL based Gaffer; March 25-April 22 for Principal Photography. 4 week shoot but there may be additional days for pick ups but they are not guaranteed. Duration: Full-time, sub-contractor Flat rate compensation: Monetary value to be discussed based upon experience. Outlined interview process: Interview in February with producers, reviewed by director, hired by March 1, 2024 Number of Days on site: 33 days (possibly up to 45 days) Schedule: Rehearsals in Missouri: March 10 through 18, 2024. Gaffer needs to be present for blocking and direction from director to smooth the process once we move to principal photography on some days. Principal Photography in Missouri: March 25 through April 22, 2024. Gaffer needs to be present 30 minutes before call time for blocking and direction from director to smooth the process once we move to principal photography.
