The HR Production Director will oversee all aspects of HR for an entertainment production company for a popular TV show with a full-time staff of 80 people. The HR Director will handle all HR administration including all employee relations, hiring, performance reviews, and all benefits administration.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted HR advisor to management and staff; foster an accessible place for employees to raise issues and be heard
Implement and execute HR programs across all stages of the employee life cycle to include recruiting, onboarding, compensation, performance feedback, benefits, leaves of absences, terminations, and culture initiatives
Answers all questions from staff with regards to all HR policies and benefits programs
Partner with hiring managers to provide full life cycle recruiting process
Counsel, coach and guide managers and staff in addressing concerns and complaints.
Conduct effective, thorough and objective employee relations investigations
Ensure legal compliance by maintaining and updating HR programs and policies to align with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Manage and evaluate the cost of all benefits programs
Create and track all staff distribution documents
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to demonstrate operative knowledge of Human Resources policies, practices, and procedures to include knowledge of federal/state/local laws governing employment issues (i.e. FEHA, ADA, FMLA, wage and hour laws, etc.)
Must have excellent follow-through and a strong sense of urgency
Must be able to utilize diplomacy and adaptability attributes in dealing with employees of all levels across the organization
Must be able to exercise keen judgment when analyzing and resolving employee issues
Must be able to uphold the highest level of confidentiality
Must be able to handle the pressure of a fast-paced environment
Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasks at the same time in an organized and effective manner
Must be flexible, adaptable, and resourceful
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required
Minimum 10 years Human Resources management required with a heavy emphasis on employee relations (or related experience)
Master's Degree and/or current human resources certification preferred
Experience working in TV, film, or media environment is strongly preferred
