This is a Full Time Job
An in-office position in downtown Manhattan running a substantial list of bestselling fiction, nonfiction, and emerging talent clients under the supervision of the co-CEO. Minimum of 4-8 years of in-office experience required. Prior literary agency, publishing house, talent agency, law firm, or tv and film experience and an eye for bestselling fiction and nonfiction a significant plus, but not mandatory. An instinctual drive and curiosity, a demonstrated love for problem-solving, learning, working with others, project management, and ability to handle a variety of responsibilities with real deadlines, non-negotiable.

• You use good judgment in organizing and prioritizing your workload, which will consist of a variety of large and small tasks.
CLIENT MANAGEMENT: You will report to the co-CEO on managing submissions, running auctions, negotiating deals, coordinating publications, solving problems, and scouting for clients for bestselling clients in fiction and nonfiction. Responsibilities vary from creating brand decks, compiling sales updates and publicity calendars, reading manuscripts, writing coverage, copy, pitch letters, and submission lists, scheduling meetings and travel, creating best-in-class virtual and in-person meeting experiences for dozens of people with conflicting schedules and needs, drafting emails and documents, reviewing deal memos, managing expenses, networking and influencing outcomes, and anticipating needs of clients and co-workers alike.
TEAM PROJECT MANAGEMENT: You will work effectively with a high-performing team and earn the trust of clients, publishers, and colleagues to complete simple and complex projects. You will prepare and write scouting reports and conduct due diligence. You will plan experiences. You will work with authors' teams, outside contractors, and publishing partners. Projects can vary from networking in LA to researching historical insights about a book category.
