Overview and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Vice President, Human Resources to join our team! The Production HR business model and attendant role is an emerging subspeciality in the industry and across studios; as such, the incumbent must be closely aligned with Production HR Leadership's mission and vision for the role and be able to execute and bring that vision to life in environments and work structures that are in varying stages of development. A successful incumbent must be able to build trust and acceptance of their role and purpose in the production environment, they must be able to demonstrate their partnership and effectiveness to their clients and possess excellent people skills to successfully engage with and win the confidence of many types of creative, technical, and professional colleagues. The Vice President Production Human Resources has overall responsibility for the design, development, and delivery of effective HR strategies for film, television, and alternative TV formats within Paramount's various studios throughout the region. A senior member of the HR team, this is a hands-on strategic role that partners with a dynamic creative and physical production team!
Responsibilities:
• Partner with HR senior leadership team and key partners to establish an HR strategic vision needed to support productions throughout the region and at our production hubs. Identify and execute on HR central initiatives as well as maintaining oversight of the tactical/day-to-day responsibilities for the department.
• Provide interpretation of HR policies, practices, and procedures to cast and crew. Work with filmmakers, showrunners, production management, and heads of departments serving as an HR thought partner to help maintain a positive work environment on set and encourage the full use of diverse talents and abilities.
• Develop and drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in partnership with filmmakers, showrunners, and corporate studio executives.
• Partner closely with on set HR and/or local, corporate HR, to ensure urgent and timely employee relations issues are managed swiftly, effectively, and justly.
• Work closely with Labor, Employment Legal, Internal Investigations, and HR COE to provide guidance and recommendations around labor standards, employee relations, learning and development.
• In partnership with the Production-based L&D and Wellness COE, assess, design, develop and facilitate and, where appropriate, lead or instruct trainings and other HR and L&D and wellness initiatives and programs for productions (i.e., leadership training, unconscious bias, career pathing, etc.)
• In partnership with the Production Benefits, Leaves and Accommodations COE, supports cast and crew needs in these respective areas.
• Oversee training & set based learning including anti-harassment training for crew and principal talent, DEI training for production management and heads of department.
• Investigate, document, and resolve employment-related claims in compliance with local laws and Paramount policies.
• Maintain production dashboard tracking activity across the slate, training, learning & development, ER issues, benefits, and leaves of absence.
• Manage and oversee work related to use of minors on set including guidance on hours and standards, studio teachers and/or welfare workers (background checks, permits, etc).
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field of study; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 10 years professional HR experience. At least five years' experience working within the entertainment industry with demonstrated experience supporting productions throughout Latin America.
Additional Qualifications:
• Bi-lingual English / Spanish required, Portuguese and/or other languages a plus
• Strong cross-cultural competence and experience working across relevant markets.
