Overview:
This senior level position’s primary function is to set editorial and brand voice, creative vision, determine strategic direction, and lead teams to develop concepts and creative executions for Paramount’s corporate creative projects, which encompass integrated solutions across digital, video, print and merchandise for business-to-business, consumer, and internal communications.
The person is responsible for adhering to budgets on each specific creative project, which can range from several hundred to several million dollars.
Position leads and delivers promotional materials, which increases awareness, sales and visibility among advertisers, affiliates, and viewers; builds relationships with business partners; and helps increase distribution for all networks; and attracts and retains talent, thus increasing company revenue. Responsibilities:
• Extremely strong writer who understands and can oversee and complete editorial tone, branding, strategy, and marketing plans
• Experienced creative and strategic leader who can work across all media to develop integrated campaigns and ensure that design, editorial and strategy are aligned to meet client goals.
• Develop concepts based on client goals and implement them across multiple touchpoints
• Manage Editorial/Strategy staff and freelancers
• In partnership with VP of Design, oversee and direct Design and Editorial teams on projects, and give them clear and strong direction
• Ability to conceive, develop and write across all media, including print, video, digital and merchandise
• As part of departmental leadership team, work to develop long-term strategic goals for the department, oversee departmental budget and guide the daily process and procedures of the area
• Inspire and encourage innovative thought
• Ensure all phases of production meet quality standards
• Empower direct reports as well as entire staff through delegation, coaching and training
• Work collaboratively with SVP, Creative & Strategy, and other department heads to recognize, create and manage opportunities to build and enhance on-brand messages and creative. Partner closely other departmental leads to guide the day-to-day work
• Ensure cost-effective administration of budget
• Develop strategies, creative directs, brainstorms, and writes for a multitude of subject areas, which include:
• Branding and Identity
• 360 Campaigns
• Creative solutions across all media (Digital, Video, Print, Radio, Merchandise and more)
• Think Tank Initiatives that generate insights and ideas for new ventures
• Full-scale scripted productions, live events, speechwriting, joke-writing
• Pro-Social and DE&I initiatives
• Presentations and strategic documents
• Event and trade materials
• Naming and tagline development
• Leading, directing, editing and writing original, creative work that effectively communicates ViacomCBS brand, businesses and priorities
• Collaborating within and across various teams and departments including design, digital, video, project management and production
• Meeting deadlines, working well under pressure, and juggling many projects at the same time
• Writing, editing and directing a team in a variety of styles (ad copywriting, speechwriting, long-form editorial writing, etc.) and voices while adhering to Paramount brand (on most projects)

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required. English or Journalism major preferred
• 10 years of professional experience as a seasoned creative director, in-house, at an agency or a creative studio with a body of work across print, digital, and video
• 5 years of experience supervising others
Additional Qualifications:
• Develop creative strategy, creates the vision, and direct multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions
• Leadership experience in a large group, not only creatively but operationally, overseeing budgets, staffing, processes, and overall direction of the group
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and able to work collaboratively. Excellent presentation and pitch skills. Strong relationships within the industry
• Accomplished leader, reliable and self-starter with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage several projects
• Excellent conceptual thinking and writer, able to write in a multitude of voices across all media
• Experienced, strong editor who can establish or craft a voice, and edit writers' work
• Strong people manager who can lead, mentor, build and inspire individuals and teams
• Has excellent writing, organizational and communication skills
• Can develop and implement effective creative concepts based on strategic foundation
• Can work across the department and collaborate with all teams
• Drive the creative and strategic aspects of a project from start to finish
• Is meticulous and can find solutions; approaches challenges and roadblocks with ideas
• Possesses excellent interpersonal skills
• Has ability to be innovative and creative
• Can adhere to deadlines and proofread and edit own work
• Knowledge of Apple operating system and experience with software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT; Apple Keynote; Outlook; Slack
