TV News Story Coordinator

Overview and Responsibilities:

Inside Edition is looking for a story coordinator for its award-winning TV news program. The position is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed to consumer, investigative, entertainment and features reporting and is looking for an entry-level job with strong growth potential. This position is full-time, non-staff with staffing opportunity.

Story Coordinators work closely with producers to find and coordinate all aspects of TV news segments. Candidates must have excellent research, phone and people skills.

This position is full-time, on-site, non-staff and overtime eligible.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Securing interviews and gathering information
• Performing background research utilizing public records
• Conducting pre-interviews

Basic Qualifications
• Prior reporting experience in television or print
• Able to travel and work nights/weekends as necessary

Additional qualifications:
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
• A passion for local and national news
• Proficient in technology and social media
• B.S or B.A. Degree or equivalent preferred
• Booking experience in television or media preferred
• A working knowledge of government, courts, law enforcement and FOIA preferred

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $19.0 - 28.0.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
