Studio Jib Operator and Technician

DESCRIPTION:

CBS News Bay Area in San Francisco is searching for a Studio Technician to join our dynamic production team!

The candidate we’re looking for is a phenomenal communicator, has strong organizational skills, has an eye for framing studio shots, and can operate a studio jib in addition to other various studio responsibilities as assigned. We have a few jibs across our studios supporting traditional studio productions on hard news sets as well as full Virtual Reality productions on a giant studio Cyc. JOB FUNCTION:

• Ideal candidate would work as the communication link between the production control room and the on-set talent during production and act as a studio/field jib operator when required.
• The position works closely with show directors and news talent, as well as the Operations and Engineering Departments to improve production possibilities of various news and special programming projects.
• Additional responsibilities include daily studio setup and maintenance (including studio lighting, wireless microphones IFB, and stage) for CBS News Bay Area newscasts, special programming/live remote specials, and other responsibilities as needed.
• Candidate must be willing to work mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
