The Streaming Research and Insights team is responsible for developing a deep understanding of Paramount streaming audiences around the world, then disseminating those findings within the company. Through research and insights initiatives, we support the Paramount streaming teams, focusing on Paramount and Pluto TV. Additionally, we collaborate with consumer insights teams in the US and abroad to champion findings chipping in to Paramount’s audience expertise!
You'll be responsible for streaming insights that help meet key business objectives on behalf of Paramount’s streaming brands, Paramount and Pluto TV. This role’s primary responsibility is the analysis and dissemination of data and insights as reported by third party syndicated sources, to support the company’s streaming strategy and further understanding of the market/competitive landscape.
This role requires someone who knows how to interpret data and consumer research, who has experience working with a variety of syndicated tools, and who has an understanding of the streaming landscape. They must demonstrate the ability to see patterns, connect insights among consumers and handle leading various projects and requests at any given time, in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. A candidate with a passion for media and streaming is a must!
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:
• Serve as a subject matter expert on US consumer streaming trends as available through third-party syndicated tools, providing insights that will complement custom primary research projects and first-party warehouse data.
• Mine third-party syndicated tools for insights that will drive continued growth for Paramount and Pluto TV.
• Track and analyze the competitive streaming landscape, identify patterns and trends in the industry, and distribute key information as needed via ongoing quarterly and monthly reporting.
• Provide ad-hoc analyses, inclusive of multiple data sources, to answer key business questions and provide strategic insights.
• Develop standard methodologies for extracting, compiling, and communicating streaming-centric third-party data to internal partners.
• Contribute to maintenance and expansion of insights tools and systems for usage of the wider business.
Skills:
• Experience pulling and analyzing data from a wide variety of syndicated media research tool suites, including Nielsen, Antenna, MRI-Simmons, Vivvix, Comscore, and YouGov.
• Proficient in Nielsen NPower capabilities and use of Streaming Platform Ratings and Streaming Content Ratings datasets.
• The ability to lead and run various projects, tasks, requests, and changing priorities effectively in a complex, fast-paced business environment.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is critical.
• Ability to manipulate large data sets using Excel, SPSS, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Strategic problem solver with strong analytical skills and the ability to find and tell a clear story based on data.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills and ability to form strong professional and working relationships.
• Experience in reporting writing and presenting findings to internal stakeholders.
• Self-starter who is upbeat & enthusiastic, adaptable & customer obsessed.
• Naturally curious, collaborative and passionate about consumer behavior and the media industry.
• Must work well under pressure and be able to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to write concisely and compellingly.
• Strong PC, Excel and PowerPoint skills a must.
• Experience with social media analytics or crosstab tools such as mTab, Q software or SPSS is desirable, but not required.
Experience:
• 5 years in media research, preferably at a media owner (TV/streaming/digital) or at a research agency
Education:
• Completed Bachelor’s Degree, master’s level education
