YouTube Programming Manager (SportsLine/Sports Betting)
Overview and Responsibilities:
CBS Sports is seeking a Manager with experience and passion developing, distributing and monetizing programming that appeals to sports betting, predictive markets and fantasy audiences across streaming, YouTube, social and digital platforms!
The SportsLine Programming Manager is responsible for developing weekly, monthly, tentpole and seasonal content calendars that tie together live and on-demand video formats aimed at sports bettors and fantasy players. Additionally, working with stakeholders across digital, social and linear, the SportsLine Programming Manager will drive recurring performance and content meetings.
Possessing a deep knowledge of the betting and fantasy space, a collaborative workplace approach and a track record of developing high-impact content for YouTube and social will give candidates a leg up. Strong communication skills, a love for analytics-based decision making and the ability to provide feedback and reporting to multiple stakeholders will further drive success in this role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop overarching programming and distribution plans for SportsLine video content with a focus on YouTube and key distribution partners
• Collaborate with show producers to develop year-round longform show programming calendars and distribution strategies across SportsLine channels
• Drive tentpole sports betting programming plans around events such as the Super Bowl, March Madness, Fantasy Football Draft Prep Season and golf majors
• Collaborate with social leads on original social programming plans and segment clipping strategies to drive brand and revenue growth across SportsLine YouTube and social channels
• Work with linear partners on cable distribution opportunities
• Partner with CBS Sports O&O product leads to integrate YouTube programming into consumer product experiences
• Collaborate with broadcast teams on programming initiatives throughout the season and distribution from linear programs
• Partner with business intelligence to develop recurring KPI reports on audience and revenue for stakeholders
• Drive SportsLine programming updates, reports and feedback loops in department meetings with key stakeholders
• Collaborate with business development on opportunities with sportsbooks
Basic Qualifications
• 3 years experience in programming and/or content strategy
• Must be able to work occasional weekends and nights
• Experience managing or producing content for YouTube channels
• Deep knowledge of the sports betting and fantasy space
Additional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Deep knowledge of sports, particularly football, basketball, golf and CBS Sports’ rights
• Strong familiarity with fantasy sports and betting audience trends
• Deep understanding of what works/doesn’t work on YouTube and social video platforms and the ability to communicate that to partners
• Having an editorial background is a benefit
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities and experience working across teams in a media organization
• Strong ability to keep open lines of communication on a team
