Paramount also enables subscribers to stream local CBS stations live across the U.S. in addition to the ability to stream Paramount Streaming’s other live channels: CBSN for 24/7 news, CBS Sports HQ for sports news and analysis, and ET Live for entertainment coverage.
Overview:
Paramount’s international communications team is looking for an experienced Sr. Publicist to join the team as Paramount continues its global expansion.
Based in New York City, this position will be responsible for completing high-profile, international consumer publicity campaigns for scripted series and content debuting on Paramount outside the US, in addition to supporting the promotion of internationally originated content. The Senior Publicist will be responsible for developing and implementing scalable press strategies; planning and hosting virtual, hybrid, and in-person press junkets, premieres, and red carpets; securing and overseeing talent interviews; working with teams around the world to promote our series; and writing press materials from briefings to press releases. The right candidate will be highly organized, an incredible multi-tasker, an excellent writer, proactive, and passionate about entertainment.
Reporting to the Director of Paramount International Communications and Scripted Publicity Lead, the Senior Publicist will act as a liaison between the US and International teams, in addition to working cross-functionally with marketing, creative, programming, and other internal groups.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement scalable communications strategies for Paramount ’s scripted series/films, incorporating a sensible mix of creative ideas, story angles, talent interviews and more
• Write press releases, bios, itineraries, key messages, prepare interview briefing docs, talking points and other collateral for brand and consumer campaigns
• Establish and build links with global media and international consumer / trade press, securing high-level placements to build series and brand awareness
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Paramount HQ INTL marketing, programming, local region PR teams and US communications counterparts to identify and create international publicity opportunities for Paramount at both the business and consumer level.
• Work with programming to identify and disseminate series information to International PR teams so they can plan and prepare local promotional efforts for key titles
• Track media coverage and prepare high-level executive reports
• Develop and implements global press events, junkets, and screenings, both virtual and in-person
• Work red carpets for Paramount premieres and tentpoles when needed, supporting talent and assisting with press, photo and talent needs during events.
• Oversee international publicity tours, appearances, press junkets and other events
• Assist with publicity department budget management and planning documents
• Oversee and work closely with team coordinator on P international mailers for series
• Coordinate talent schedules and logistics
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally, as needed
Basic Qualifications:
• 4-5 years of experience in Public Relations working for a studio, network, streaming platform, production company or agency, ideally on high-profile scripted series
• Bachelor’s degree in either English, Communications, Journalism, Publicity, or related field preferred
Additional Qualifications:
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Established press contacts and ability to build positive relationships with press/media
• Deep passion for TV, film, and entertainment!
• Strong knowledge and understanding of pop culture and social media/ digital/online press
• Self-starter who can build a well thought out press plan for each of our talent and shows
• Strong organizational, leadership and client/talent relations/customer service skills with phenomenal attention to detail
• Proactively thinks of what needs to be done to support and troubleshoot
• Ability to maintain professionalism at all times (i.e. with press, talent, etc.)
• Experience managing and working not only cross functionally, but daily with strategic partners
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• No ego, able to tackle any task no matter how big or small
• Motivated self-starter who is able to work alone as well as in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and follow through on all projects
• Polite and professional, exercising patience and tact.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations, working in a fast-paced department
• Capability and interest to help develop and grow coordinator on the team to set them up for success
• Strong communication, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Crisis communications experience
• Fluent in a second language preferred, but not required
• Streaming publicity experience preferred, but not required
