Overview:
The Senior Manager of External Financial Reporting will play a crucial role in the preparation and review of footnotes and MD&A for inclusion in our quarterly and annual SEC filings. This role combines technical accounting expertise, analytical skills, and strong writing ability to ensure that financial reporting is precise, insightful, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting regulations, including adoption of new accounting pronouncements.
• Draft MD&A that clearly communicates financial performance drivers, trends, risks and opportunities, while ensuring a consistent narrative across financial statements and other external earnings materials.
• Assist in special projects, including mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions requiring complex disclosures.
• Assess accounting impacts and related disclosures relating to new or complex business transactions.
• Prepare and review financial statement analyses and presentations for senior management and the audit committee.
• Collaborate with divisional teams, tax, treasury, investor relations, legal, and external auditors to deliver accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare quarterly asset impairment analysis, documentation of review procedures, as well as various P&L analyses and ad hoc management requests.
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls over financial reporting.
• Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of reporting systems and tools in collaboration with the controllership teams and IT.
• Utilize Workiva for SEC filings, disclosure data gathering, and XBRL review.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance environment focused on accuracy and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
• 8 years of relevant experience, ideally combining external reporting and public accounting
• In-depth knowledge of SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP
Additional Qualifications
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong written communication skills
• Experience with Workiva, Oracle, XBRL is a plus
