Job Title: Manager, Production & Special Event Security
Location: Los Angeles, CA (with global travel)
Reports to: Global Production & Special Event Security Director
Travel: 40-60% frequent domestic and international travel; nights/weekends/holidays required
Role Summary
The Global Production & Special Event Security Manager is responsible for planning and executing security operations that protect cast, crew, audiences, facilities, and intellectual property across Paramount’s global productions (film, scripted/unscripted series, live audience formats) and special events (premieres, screenings, festivals, fan activations, press/junkets, award-season).
Key Responsibilities
Production & Special Event Support:
• Develop and execute security plans for all phases of production (film, scripted/unscripted series, live audience formats) and special events (premieres, award shows, concerts, festivals, and fan events).
• Conduct risk assessments for filming locations and event venues.
• Implement access control, credentialing, perimeter protection, secure transport/parking, equipment protection, and cast & crew security safeguards.
• Coordinate with studio executives and production/event leaders to enforce studio security policy.
• Oversee crowd management, screening protocols, and VIP/talent protection.
Investigations & Compliance:
• Partner with the Global Security Operations Center for intelligence gathering and threat monitoring.
• Ensure adherence to studio security standards, local regulations, and safety protocols.
• Support investigations into theft, leaks, harassment, and workplace violence in partnership with Legal/HR.
• Liaise with law enforcement, fire, and emergency services.
• Integrate with Health & Safety for emergency action plans (EAP), EMS/medical coverage, fire/life safety, and severe weather protocols.
Vendor & Budget Oversight:
• Source and manage contractors or vendors of security guards and talent protection.
• Manage on-set/event daily security operations in coordination with security contractors or vendors.
• Prepare and track security budgets for productions and events.
Training & Policy Enforcement:
• Educate production and event teams on security protocols and emergency procedures.
• Conduct security briefings and tabletop exercises for high-risk projects.
• Define and report key metrics to senior leadership, conduct after action reviews, capture lessons learned, and update playbooks/SOPs.
Qualifications
Required:
• 7 years progressively responsible experience in production and/or live event security (studio/network/streaming or major vendor), including international locations.
• Demonstrated leadership of complex production/event security operations (securing film sets, crowd management, VIP/talent movements, red carpet builds).
• Strong incident management and communication skills under time pressure; calm, decisive, and collaborative.
• Proficiency with VMS/CCTV, access control, credentialing, radio comms, incident management tools, and GSOC/intel workflows.
• Familiarity with union/permit environments (IATSE, DGA, SAG AFTRA, Teamsters), filming ordinances, and LE/Fire/EMS liaison.
• Willingness to work nights/weekends/holidays; travel domestically and internationally (frequently).
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field.
• Certifications: CPP, PSP, PMP (or equivalent), FEMA ICS 100/200/700/800, TEEX/NIMS crowd management; CERT or CPR/First Aid/Stop the Bleed.
• Multilingual (e.g., Spanish)
• Experience working with international security vendors and public safety agencies.

Working Conditions:
• On site presence at stages/locations and event venues; extended standing and outdoor exposure; ability to lift 25–30 lbs.

• Travel 40–60% with periods of international travel depending on the slate.
