Overview and Responsibilities:

247Sports is a digital enterprise focused on delivering original college sports and recruiting news on a team-by-team basis to passionate sports fans across the world through a spectrum of platforms! 247Sports is part of CBS Sports Digital -- a portfolio of premium digital sports media properties including CBSSports.com, MaxPreps and SportsLine -- is always ranked a top-three sports property, reaching more than 70M sports fans monthly across desktop, mobile, and connected TV devices.

We are looking for a new team-member at our Penn State University site (Lions247) who is passionate and knowledgeable specifically about college football recruiting, college football college basketball recruiting, college basketball and other collegiate sports. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and a grinder who works well in a team environment and has strong writing and reporting skills. In this role, you play a key part in our coverage â€'' providing content for our fans and our premium subscribers along with interacting with them on our message boards. The ideal candidate would live in or near State College, PA in order to be close to campus events, news conferences, etc.

Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
• Report and provide free and premium written updates on high school, junior college and college transfers that Penn State University is recruiting
• Post on team site message board communities and interact with fans by providing news, analysis and insight on recruiting and college athletics
• Keep up with the top recruits that Penn State is after and also key recruits in the area that other teams in our network may be pursuing

Key Projects:
• Build relationships and develop sources to provide premium information and break news
• Provide original and quality content to help grow audience and message board community
• Work with national editorial to help provide comprehensive coverage on national news

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience covering and reporting on college football recruiting
• Must be able to travel and work flexible hours including nights and weekends
• Experience in multimedia, especially on-camera video and podcasting
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok
• Experience on camera for video features around football recruiting and basketball recruiting coverage
