Overview and Responsibilities:
CBS News and Stations is looking for an enthusiastic, personable, HR professional to join their team as the HR Coordinator. In this newly created role, the HR Coordinator work closely with the HR team and our clients and will learn what it means to be a collaborative HR business partner. The successful candidate is adaptable to change, eager to make an impact, and demonstrates excellent communication, analytical, and customer service skills.
• Create a positive onboarding and offboarding experience for employees by coordinating with key partners on all aspects of the hiring and exit process. Prepare new hire and exiting employee paperwork, ensure employees understand the process, trouble shoot issues, and answer questions as needed.
• Help assess areas for improvement in the employee experience by conducting exit interviews with departing employees and compiling and sharing thematic feedback with the HR team.
• Create and process paperwork to support employee life-cycle changes including promotions, title and salary adjustments, supervisor changes, terminations, etc.
• Liaise and collaborate with internal partners including Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, IT, and HR Operations to ensure resolution of day-to-day employee issues or redirect to appropriate contacts.
• Support the team€™s talent acquisition efforts by crafting job descriptions and launching job postings.
• Generate regular and ad hoc reports i.e., monthly employee census, and assist with regular data-audit requests such as the monthly email audit.
• Maintain organizational charts and team tracking documents as needed.
• Provide employment verification and other ad hoc letters needed by employees.
• Keep apprised & updated on new regulations, company policies & procedures
• Attend & participate in training courses pertinent to Human Resources as required
• Find opportunities to streamline processes, build efficiencies and improve the team€™s overall productivity
• Other duties and project work as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor€™s Degree in Human Resources, or related field
• Minimum two years of relevant human resources experience
• Flexible, organized, with an ownership mindset
• Exceptional initiative, follow-through, and attention to detail
• Outstanding interpersonal skills exemplified by clear communication (written and oral)
• Highly responsive, ''customer service'' minded professional who works well in a team environment
• Possess a natural, yet professional ease at working with and relating to the needs of employees in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suites
• Proven experience handling extremely confidential information, and employing discretion
• Desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and grow your HR skills and knowledge
• Ability and willingness to handle operational and administrative duties
• Ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
• Ability to think proactively and analytically
Additional Qualifications:
• Project management experience a plus
• Experience with HR information systems and reporting software a plus
• Knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations
• Previous experience interacting with senior leadership
