Paramount Global Facilities team is seeking a Facilities Mechanic to support the entire on-air critical Network Operations Center (NOC) located in Hauppauge, NY. The Mechanic will ensure all equipment is properly maintained, operational, and the work environment is clean and safe for all employees. The primary hours will be 8A-5P with flexibility required for periodic weekend and/or evening after-hours calls for facility emergencies i.e., power outage, Building Management System (BMS), Fire Alarm, Snow Emergency, etc. On call coverage will be required every third week. For this reason, the mechanic should reside near our premises.This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team within a leading global media and entertainment company!
Overview and Responsibilities
• Operation of critical equipment and systems will be conducted as outline from established Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintains daily rounds & checks of the equipment in the facility to ensure all equipment is operational
• Oversee and manage building contractors as required.
• Provide routine preventative maintenance of equipment as scheduled
• Respond to daily work requests as scheduled and assigned
• Operate the Facility BMS/Alerton system to monitor and control our HVAC systems.
• Operate the Siemens’ Fire Alarm Panel to acknowledge troubles and alarms.
• Ability to operate a fire suppression and connections. Knowledge of fire suppression systems (Preaction, Wet, Novec, and FM200)
Basic Qualifications
• 5 years experience in Maintenance Operations.
• Must have experience in electrical distribution systems and mechanical equipment (i.e., chiller plant).
• Experience operating diesel generators and transfer switches, air conditioning, and stand-by power disciplines. (UPS, ATS and generator systems)
• Must reside locally to respond to emergency calls.
Additional Qualifications • Familiar with Auto Cad is a plus
• NYC refrigeration license is plus
• Excellent people management, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make appropriate decisions
• Work well with minimal direct supervision
• Must be dependable, self-motivated and have excellent solving skills
• Ability to thoroughly detail and report repairs and work
• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.
