Are you a creative and innovative storyteller looking to make an impact? If so, KPIX 5 wants you as our next Executive News Producer!
We are looking for a transformational leader to help elevate our newscasts! This is a role for a showcasing influencer who will play a pivotal role in crafting, leading, and coordinating content for both traditional TV broadcasts and our growing digital-first platforms.
The ideal candidate is someone who can help their team grow skills while setting a high standard for news quality through feedback and mentorship.
OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Cultivate a work environment that encourages fresh ideas and community engagement for our diverse audience.
• Lead a team of anchors, producers, reporters, meteorologists, photojournalists, digital content producers and editors with strong editorial judgment.
• Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Uphold outstanding grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced.
• Contribute to the station's goal of growing digital-first content through daily editorial decisions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in broadcast or cable news; at least 3 years of newsroom management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Familiarity with streaming platforms and working knowledge of digital video production techniques and online content management.
• Available for early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, holidays.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $150,000.00 - 165,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This position is bonus eligible.
Salary/Benefits
$150,000.00 - 165,000.00 per year
