Overview and Responsibilities
The Director of Sustainable Projects will be a key member responsible for conceptual design, budgeting and project management for sustainable capital improvement projects, energy savings and continuous process improvements activities. • Supervisory/management responsibilities and will lead complex projects
• Implements projects and drives local, state, and federal incentives associated with these projects
• Drives the implementation of sustainable capital projects, while also investigating and resolving problems within scope of work, cost or GHG reduction opportunities within Paramount Studios facility
• Life cycle costs projections of the facilities sustainable projects that support GHG reductions
• Prepare the financial and performance justifications (payback analysis, return on investment, IRR) for projects in conjunction with Finance group
• Develop and submit Capital funding requests
• Primary lead that is responsible for reducing, validating, documenting activities that impact greenhouse gases (GHG’s), establishes GHG reporting standards and communicates with vested entities (internal and external)
• Develop, plan, and implement GHG goals and objectives for the Energy and Engineering Department while reducing maintenance and operational costs
• Provide responsible advice and counsel to other Paramount entities
• Work with management team to define long-term GHG reductions, serving office, stage, post-production, and information technology systems
• Work with cross-functional team to determine Paramount's Studios annual sustainability goals
• Ensure that the projects continue to perform as designed thru continuous process improvement audits and monthly reporting of GHG creation
• Change agent to apply corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance as key driver for capital investment, as well as to alignment investment with Paramount Studios business objectives
• Define key metrics for operational GHG creation and implement a cross functional reporting tool with key energy engineering staff that is fully automated
Basic Qualifications:
• B.S. in Engineering or Science based field of study
• Minimum 3 years practical experience in energy systems and sustainability program implementation
• Minimum 1 year experience in campus environment systems
Additional Qualifications:
• Proficient with Microsoft Project, Excel, Access, Word, Edge, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Autodesk AutoCAD
• Broad-based knowledge of project management methodologies, commercial building design, construction, and maintenance with a strong background in utility and infrastructure equipment and systems, control systems, including building management system interfaces, and Data Center systems
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient in understanding, designs, applications, and operations of:
• Specification writing and interpretation
• Construction/electrical/mechanical drawings
• Construction budgeting and control
• Change order management
• Possess a working knowledge of GHG reporting
• Energy or Sustainability Certification
• LEED Accreditation
