Overview and Responsibilities
The Digital Asset Specialist, Multiplatform Distribution (MPD) will be responsible for ensuring the accurate acquisition, organization, and maintenance of incoming and outgoing assets for MPD’s media workloads. This process consists of assets movement, accurate metadata entry into title management systems, digitizing media for uploads into MPD’s media supply chain for processing, and orchestration of asset movement across facilities. The Digital Asset Specialist will also work with various internal and external partners, including product owners and department managers, to continually improve MPD’s content aggregation workflows and future business opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities
• Coordinate the digital asset and/or file restore of assets for upload into MPD’s media supply chain for automated processing
• Consistent and accurate metadata entry into title management and asset tracking systems
• Validate that appropriate file format and naming conventions of all received digital assets is correct, and that accurate mandatory metadata for all newly ingested assets is applied consistently
• Apply/tag assets with additional metadata as required
• Assist in the revision and implementation of new guidelines and procedures for continual optimization of existing workflows
• Work with technical teams as needed to refine applications and processes
• Uploading, downloading and understanding metadata hierarchy
• Facilitate support of internal and external content contributors
• Handle incoming and outgoing workflows for both tape-base and file-based assets
• Handle the movement of physical assets within the facility
• Perform out-of-house tape shipping and receiving
• Assist in tape inventorying which requires moving varying quantities of tapes and other material
• Archives management and asset cataloging
• Auditing, monitoring, and reporting on assets
• Identify, collect, categorize, and rename assets/files
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and talents:
Basic Qualifications
• Experience in the media & entertainment industry relating to one or more of the following areas â€'' digital video and audio, asset management systems/platforms, multimedia formats, and file acceleration technologies
• 2 years experience with library management practices, video/audio formats
• A passion for media and entertainment is a must

• Excellent collaboration, written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task under shifting deadlines within a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, teammate who is determined
• Willingness to learn fundamental elements of cloud based concepts
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 70,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
