Overview
Paramount is actively seeking a Communications Director, Editorial who will play a key role in defining and maintaining a consistent brand voice for the service across entertainment, consumer and trade media. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting, editing and managing the distribution of a wide range of communications. We are seeking a fast and accurate writer and an organized and thoughtful editor. Responsibilities include writing and editing press releases, internal communications and news content for the media newsletter. Experience working with senior executives a plus. This position reports to the Senior Director of Communications.
Responsibilities
• Help define and push forward the overarching brand voice for Paramount press communications
• Partner with cross-functional Paramount teams such as marketing and cross-company brand partners to ensure cohesive messaging and coordination
• Develop and socialize a style guide to ensure a consistent brand voice and narrative for the service
• Oversee a master communications calendar, coordinating the timing of announcements and activities to improve our share of voice and maintain a consistent cadence.
• Draft and/or edit press releases, media newsletters, scripts and other press materials
• Write, edit and/or maintain executive bios, show descriptions and talent bios and manage posting to our media website Press Express.
• Additional projects as assigned
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required
• 7-10 years of relevant experience at a studio or media organization
Additional Qualifications
• Strong writing and editing skills required
• Passion and demonstrated experience in crafting strong written narratives
• Experience in project management, including building and implementing new programs and managing them to scale.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Must be collaborative, flexible and capable of working across various business groups across the company
• Motivated self-starter who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and adapt is critical
• Passion and proven knowledge of the digital media and entertainment industries
