WCBS-TV/CBS News New York/CBS New York Studio Operations is looking for an aggressive engineering maintenance candidate. This is a fast-paced environment that requires fast accurate thinking during times of demand.
• The ability to learn and understand broadcast television is required. The successful candidate will be a member of the broadcast engineering team.
• They will be required to troubleshoot isolate and fix problems with server applications as well as handle server administration, LAN & VLAN configuration and installation of updates. Having experience with SMPTE 2110 is advantageous. Installation, testing and implementation of projects, terminating HD SDI cables, RF cables, network data and fiber optic cables.
• Proven knowledge of integrated receiver decoders IRDs, core devices, edge devices, timing of video and audio systems, audio and video media file formats is a necessity. Working with vendors and manufacturer’s to research and address support issues is also required. Knowledge of Evertz frame control via VistaLink or Magnum, Grass Valley Densite frame control, ITX, Harmonic encoders, Nielsen (NACAT), EEG VANC equipment, Linear Acoustics, EAS systems. Must be familiar with active directory, software deployment such as bigfix, and basic linux/unix commands.
• Familiar with newsroom server systems INEWS and ENPS would be beneficial. Knowledge of newsroom automation systems is a plus.
• Live TV is a 24/7 environment and all candidates must be able to work all shifts and overtime as required. Individual must also be very customer support driven to support all different levels of personalities.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• Computer networking is a requirement; Cisco certification is a big plus. Ability to read AV signal flow diagrams, document project design work and see projects through completion.
• Proficiency in working harmoniously within a team or individually and ensuring project deadlines are met.
• A Bachelors, Associates, or trade school certification is required.

Hiring Salary Range: $120,000.00 - 120,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
