Broadcast Jib Operator and TOC Specialist

This is a Full Time Job

CBS Miami-is looking for a Jib Operator/TOC Specialist for the Miami station. The TOC Specialist ‘s role is incharge of working with the news department, engineering, and field crews in acquiring, transmitting, routing and operating equipment to acquire live signals and recordings. This also includes multiple Zoom recordings at a time as needed. In addition, support the technical needs of Production Control Room.
The Jib Operators role is in charge of safely operating, and capturing dynamic shots required by the producer. Key responsibilities include maneuvering the jib arm, coordinating with the crew, adjusting camera focus, zoom, and adjusting camera functions like pan, focus, tilt, and zoom.

Job Function:
Duties include acquiring and routing LiveU/Satellite signals, receiving Microwave signals, recording and VCO operations with the ability to multi-task under deadline pressures.
Knowledge of Edius, Grass Valley and Sony camera RCP systems a plus.

Skills Required TOC:
• Safely operate news-gathering equipment from TOC department
• Knowledge of Cellular Bonding systems-(LiveU)
• Schedule and record feeds
• Sound technical decisions under pressure
• Handle multiple Zoom recording as needed
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Work individually or in a room with others
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude & leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple task and priorities a must
• Impressive people and communication skills
• Good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
• Open to working varied shifts, weekends and holidays is a must

Skills Required Jib Operator:
• Maneuvering the camera: Smoothly swinging the jib arm to create dynamic camera movements, as requested by the director or producer.
• Adjusting camera functions: Simultaneously adjusting the camera's pan, focus, tilt, and zoom while operating the jib.
• Capturing shots: Broadcasting high-quality shots, which can include sweeping pans, dramatic high-to-low angles, or other creative movements.
