CBS News is looking for a dynamic and experienced IBEW Avid Editor to join our fast-paced New York Bureau. This is a unique opportunity to put your technical expertise and editorial instincts to work at one of the most respected news organizations in the world. From breaking news to longform features, you’ll help shape stories that inform, inspire, and make an impact.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Cut together compelling short-form packages and polished longform pieces with Avid Media Composer
• Bring speed, creativity, and precision to fast paced editing for breaking news
• Collaborate with producers, correspondents, and field teams to deliver stories with clarity and power
• Record, ingest, and manage incoming feeds while overseeing live playback
• Manage and maintain media assets, ensuring smooth editorial workflows
• Troubleshoot editing and broadcast tech issues with confidence
• Adapt to the needs of a 24/7 newsroom, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Play a vital role in newsroom communication and support for field teams

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
• At least 5 years of editing experience in a professional broadcast or news environment
• Proven experience of Avid Media Composer and newsroom workflows
• A sharp editorial eye and strong storytelling instincts
• Calm, focused performance under the tightest deadlines
• Excellent organizational and time organization skills
• A proven understanding of media management systems and digital workflows
• Strong troubleshooting skills to keep production moving

BONUS POINTS FOR:
• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $58.88 - 58.88.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
